Our Client is a global organization that makes products that filter water, promote hygiene and provide infection prevention solutions and services to multiple industries hospitality, food producers, healthcare products, and services providers.
They are looking for a Sr. Network Engineer who is interested in large scale challenges and not above support tickets. The right person will perform maintenance and work on innovative projects in a large cutting-edge SD-WAN environment.
Due to onsite data centers and projects, this is NOT a fully remote position (3 days onsite). This is also an on-going long term contract, full-time position (with a possibility to convert to salary down the road).
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of networks routers and switches and other system hardware
- Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to hardware and software problems
- Work with alert management and other IT groups when issues arise to minimize client productivity loss caused by technology outages and provide necessary infrastructure for the clients to meet their business needs
- Perform 2nd level problem determination on hardware/software problems in a Global environment. Creates and modifies operational procedures and standards.
- Coordinate and direct daily ticket triage meetings with Network Operation peers. Ensure the timely distribution and completion of both incident and request tickets
- Create thorough reports and documentation of all incidents and procedures, present findings to team and leadership on a routine basis
- Validate IT infrastructure, applications, and other reference architectures for security best practices, and recommend changes to enhance security and reduce risks where applicable
- Continuously monitoring cloud and enterprise security operations; responding to and resolving security issues
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience designing, implementing, and maintaining voice-capable TCP/IP networks using Cisco or other enterprise-class equipment
- LAN infrastructure experience required as well as experience working on enterprise Ethernet, VLANs, QOS, routing, switching, and IP addressing
- Experience working with carrier technologies including SD WAN, ISP, T1/E1/PRI, metro Ethernet and systems interconnectivity
Preferred Hands-On Experience:
- Cube, Cisco Call Manager, or Unity.
- Cisco Catalyst switching
- Palo Alto Firewalls required, ZScaler a plus
- BlueCat
- SolarWinds
- ServiceNow
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) preferred
- Exposure to VoIP, SIP, and CUBE a plus
- Experience Working with Cisco Catalyst 3XXX, 9XXX, 6500, 6800 & Nexus Switches
- Experience working with Cisco 4XXX & 1100 Series Routers. lighter
- Excellent Documentation and Communication Skills
