Knowledge:
- Numerical Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated foundation in numerical modeling with a focus on any kind of fluid dynamics.
- Software Proficiency: familiarity with various modeling and simulation software, such as OpenFOAM, StarCCM+, ANSYS, or others. Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB, Python) and Linux-based systems is preferred.
Skills:
- CFD Software Proficiency: Experience with leading CFD tools like OpenFOAM, StarCCM+, ANSYS Fluent, or similar software. Ability to set up, run, and analyze simulations.
- Numerical Modeling: Understanding of numerical techniques for solving fluid dynamics problems, including discretization methods, mesh generation, and solution algorithms.
- Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages for custom simulations, automation, and data analysis.
- HPC/Terminal Skills: Demonstration of using High Performance Computing systems or experience using a terminal is good (Bash, Csh, Linux, etc.)

Description:
The ideal candidate would demonstrate either a fluid mechanics and/or numerical modeling background at either the Bachelors or Masters level. I do not expect extensive or hyper specific experience related to 3D multiphase RANS modeling; but some demonstration of general numerical modeling concepts and fluid mechanics would be very beneficial. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, including proficiency in using one or more various modeling and simulation software and/or numerical methods. They should possess analytical skills, enabling them to approach complex problems methodically and develop solutions. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate organizational skills, ensuring they can manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently. The candidate must exhibit a strong problem-solving ability, with a knack for identifying root causes of technical issues and implementing effective solutions. Adaptability is crucial, as they will need to learn new software, techniques, and methodologies quickly and effectively. A proactive attitude and student mentality are essential, along with the perseverance to tackle challenging tasks. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute positively to team dynamics, maintain a continuous learning mindset, and strive for professional development.
