The Role:
Our site in Hillsboro Oregon is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our team. The person filling this position reports to the EHS Manager and will play a critical role in promoting effective initiatives that achieve industry best EHS and sustainability performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Engage and collaborate with personnel at all levels to implement and manage industry best environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs.
- Help to ensure compliance with federal and local occupational health, safety and environmental rules and regulations as well as facilitate the implementation and management of corporate EHS Programs.
- Assist in developing and delivering EHS training, including New Hire Orientation.
- Be proactive in helping to implement immediate and effective corrective actions to eliminate safety hazards
- Support the design review of new projects and modifications to existing processes and facilities to identify and resolve EHS issues.
- Conduct risk and ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
- Participate and/or chair committees in support of the overall EHS Management System.
- Oversee the Waste Management Program, including facilitation of periodic hazardous material training, management and storage of waste manifests, conduction of site waste inspections and the completion of all pertinent regulatory reporting.
- Help oversee the Industrial Hygiene Program, including monitoring, analyzing results, and ensuring proper controls and awareness.
- Perform various ISO Audit requirements to earn and maintain ISO Certification for 14001 & 45001.
What We Seek:
- Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety, occupational health, engineering, environmental science, or other EHS-related technical discipline from an accredited college/university. Equivalent experience considered in place of degree.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing successful EHS programs.
- Strong subject matter expertise in such areas as ergonomics, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, electrical safety, energy control, and confined spaces.
- Very strong experience in environmental regulations, including hazardous materials management.
- Flexibility to occasionally work scheduled hours outside of the normally assigned schedule.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
- CIH and/or CSP certification.
- ISO 45001 and/or 14001 experience.
- Experience with Reliance (ETQ) and SumTotal applications.
