Maintenance Planner
Client: Refinery
Location: Texas City, TX
Duration: 6 mons could go longer

Schedule: 5/8's and OT when needed
Role Description:
Position develops detail job plans for mechanical resources according to client's maintenance schedules and work lists.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review drawings to investigate scope items
- Perform field walk down of scope items to visually investigate scope
- Locate isolation points for scope items
- Identify scaffolding needs for scope items
- Locate insulation needs for scope items
- Review and mark up drawings showing scope, isolation points, required scaffolding, and insulation needs
- Break scope items down into steps which can be progressed during execution
- Identify resources required for each step (labor, equipment, material, other)
- Determine durations for each step
- Develop estimated cost for scope items based on work steps identified
- Enter all steps into a database
- Obtain input from contractors, operators, etc. for comparison and buy-in of plan
- Notify the Scheduler when steps are ready to be uploaded into the schedule
- Assist in monitoring progress of field activities
- Assist in trouble shooting field activity issues
Qualifications & Skills for Success:
- Piping/mechanical background with a minimum of 5 years of actual planning experience
- Maintenance planning experience
- Refining experience
- Extensive knowledge of various mechanical skills (pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, electrical, rotating equipment, instrumentation, X-ray techniques & interpretation)
