Senior Azure Cloud Operations Engineer (100% Remote)
Hamilton Porter is a national recruiting firm that specializes in helping growth stage companies find full-time technical talent. We are actively building the Cloud Operations team for an AI based conversational messaging platform that helps large enterprises communicate with their customers at massive scale. We are looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Operations Engineer to support their PaaS enterprise solution. You will be a key team member in architecting, implementing, and maintaining a highly scalable and secure Azure cloud infrastructure. If this sounds like you, please read on for more details!
Key Areas of Focus:
- Azure Cloud Governance (access controls, resource monitoring, azure policy, etc..)
- Cloud Security (RBAC, NSG, IAM, VNETs, Azure Key Vault, DDos protection, and more)
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, capacity planning, etc..)
- Disaster Recovery (develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and backups)
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) - manage pipelines, we do not currently have a need for IaC
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing and operating Azure Cloud infrastructure, including governance, security, disaster recovery, monitoring, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience and proficiency with configuring and maintaining Azure PaaS offerings: Azure functions, App Services, App configuration, Service Bus, VNET, NSG, WAF, Front door, API Management, App Insights, Azure Monitor/Alerts, Scale Sets, Azure SQL, KeyVault, Log Analytics, IAM, RBAC, Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory
- Hands-on experience with Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, and Azure Security Center to enforce governance and security measures.
- Strong background in implementing and managing cloud security using Azure-native security tools and following best practices for data protection and privacy.
- Knowledge of industry compliance standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA and experience in ensuring cloud systems meet these standards.
- Proficient with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to manage cloud performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Good understanding of Azure Cost management and cost savings
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
