Position Summary
Responsible for identifying suppliers, generating purchase orders and verifying delivered items.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate daily with suppliers and vendors to track the status of open orders and shipments.
- Monitor supplier performance based on KPIs and resolve any discrepancies or questions.
- Work closely with the Shipping & Receiving department to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials and parts, including those from outside services.
- Fulfill shop needs by ordering materials, maintenance supplies, and tooling based on job requirements.
- Issue materials to jobs running in the shop
- Quote and manage outside service needs, ensuring coordination between vendors, the Quality department, sales, and Engineering.
- Update manufacturing on the status of incoming materials and follow up on delivery timelines.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Highly detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of handling multiple priorities efficiently.
- Strong research, analytical, and documentation skills.
- A positive personality committed to leading, helping, and supporting others on the team.
- Able to work with a sense of urgency and be self-motivated.
