Our client is seeking a Legal Support Assistant to assist in our Legal Support Services Department. This position allows growth and development opportunities through cross-training; with the intention to advance as a legal assistant or other team member. This is a full-time assignment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitoring electronic communications.
- Responding to internal stakeholder requests.
- Coordinating and assisting with firm mailings.
- Assisting with onsite preparation of litigation materials.
- Routine electronic and physical filing.
- Creating and maintaining client matter files in accordance with firm-wide records.
- The position introduces various aspects of legal support work through shadowing and cross-training in areas such as docketing, billing, and word processing.
- Other special assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of administrative experience in a Legal environment is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks as assigned and complete them within acceptable time constraints.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to successfully partner with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to learn and utilize Department database software and inventory system for files.
- Ability to operate at the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Ability to manage a varied workload in a timely manner, with courtesy and tact.
