Quanex is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team located in Akron, OH.
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting plant and divisional goals by analyzing and providing reporting on product line, margin, and customer profitability for assigned areas. This position will identify and recommend opportunities for margin improvement and price optimization through data mining and analysis.

What Success Looks Like:
- Actively monitor profitability of all customers with unacceptable contribution margins.
- Provide analytical support for key manufacturing metrics.
- Analyze gross margin information by customer, species, product, and volume.
- Drive the design, development, and implementation of plant standard costing system.
- Review PPV accounting and ensure clarity to drivers are explained from analyst team.
- Review production capacity and determine appropriate excess capacity accounting.
- Review organizational BI/metric reports for consistency and accuracy.
- Participate in physical inventory counts.
- Analyze and prepare journal entries and reconciliations, as part of the closing process.
- Work with plant leadership in reviewing/identifying BOM accuracy.
- Support plant management by providing financial information and analysis.
- Identify revenue and profit opportunities and financial impact of business decisions.
- Knowledgeable in various financial and operating systems.
Your Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field of study.
- 1-3 years of financial modeling, statistical analytics, and data mining experience.
- Strong skills in using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to provide sound business analysis.
- Excellent, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify a target audience and connect with appropriate level of detail.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $80,000 w/ bonus potential.
