Job Summary: The Project Engineer will oversee and manage various projects within the chemical plant, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with multiple departments and disciplines, including engineering, production, safety, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project management experience, and a thorough understanding of capital project life cycle.
- Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and Management:
- Translate business objectives into the capital project objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Manage all phases of projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Management of 3rd party engineering and construction contractors
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Allocate resources effectively, ensuring that project teams have the necessary tools and personnel.
- Provide accurate monthly forecasts.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project risks and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all project activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular quality audits and reviews to ensure project deliverables meet the required specifications.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project status, performance metrics, and outcomes.
- QualificationsB.S. degree, in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 3+ years of project management experience. Preferably in manufacturing and/or petrochemical industry
- Self-motivated, self-managing, proactive
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work across business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
