The successful candidate will provide engineering excellence, plan, identify, prioritize, track and monitor tasks and sequences in the process to produce the desired outcome. They will be the point of contact for local, state, and federal projects, interface with clients and employees to track design progress throughout the life of the project. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Scheduling, Employee engagement, producing Cost Effective designs on time and under budget, and Evaluate Quality of Performance.
Job Description:
- Design-Build and P3 projects
- Follow JSE, Client, and DOT standards and guides for developing projects
- Maintain PE registrations
- Complete structural engineering for bridge design projects
- Present complete, final, and accurate bridge design plans
- Develop project specifications, documentation, estimates, and reports
- Work with CAD technicians to develop bridge plans
- Train and supervise professional and senior professional engineers
- Organize kick-off and ongoing project team meetings
- Coordinate with subconsultants, disciplines, and other staff members on projects
- Produce project schedules, rebar lists, quantities, and manhour and cost estimates
- Travel (as required)
- Additional tasks as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Required)
- Professional Engineer (Required)
- 15+ years’ experience as a Structural Engineer, Project Manager or in a similar role (Required)
- Extensive Design-Build and P3 experience
- Proficient with MicroStation, BIM, Autocad, Civil 3D, Leap Bridge, Mathcad, Merlin Dash/MDX, Structural Analysis Software (Required)
- In-depth knowledge of AASHTO, DOT, ACI, and AISC standards (Required)
- Strong communication skills and capability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Department of Transportation project experience (Preferred)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to identify and manage risk
- Previous structural modeling experience
- Ability to establish, influence, and maintain relationships with key partners
