BioPhase specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for Life Sciences communities. We are currently looking for a Contract (4-5mo) HYBRID HR Manager to work for a leading Santa Monica-based biotech company.
*Applicants must be located and willing to work a hybrid schedule in Santa Monica, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and regularly review policies for compliance with best practices.
- Develop, recommend, and enforce company HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure alignment of HR practices and programs across international operations to maintain consistency.
- Serve as a human resources partner to hiring managers for recruitment and staffing needs, including candidate sourcing, interview coordination, feedback collection, offer letter preparation, and new employee onboarding.
- Administer the benefits program, including annual review, enrollment processes, communication, and management of leave of absence requests.
- Analyze compensation and benefits trends; research and propose competitive salary and incentive structures to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage and maintain databases across all human resource information systems.
- Design and implement learning and development programs that offer internal growth opportunities for employees.
- Conduct employee disciplinary meetings, lead investigations, and handle exit interviews.
- Oversee the annual performance review process, including timeline management, compensation decisions, and support to managers to ensure timely completion of reviews.
- Collaborate with finance on HR-related matters, including payroll coordination.
- Plan and execute employee engagement events and culture-building initiatives.
- Gather employee feedback on HR tools, processes, and practices to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
-Experience or general knowledge in the biotechnology industry is highly preferred.
-Comprehensive understanding of U.S. employment laws and regulations.
-Skilled in generating reports from HR systems and leveraging data to inform decisions.
-Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and technology skills.
-Willing to work flexible hours to accommodate international business needs.
-Strong facilitation skills, including group training and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
-Capable of working independently, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and planning/executing projects.
-Highly adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail.

-Hands-on approach, with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
