Job Overview
The Settlement Closer will review title work and related documents to meet the requirements needed to close a purchase and/or mortgage closing in New York and/or New Jersey.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review title work and requirements of lender.
- Communicate with lender/borrowers & purchasers leading up to closing.
- Clear all requirements revealed in title search and also required by lender.
- Coordinate closing with borrower, attorney and/or lender.
- Prepare all closing documents including closing disclosures, HUD forms and NY CEMA agreements.
- Disbursement of mortgage proceeds.
- Review recording documents for accuracy and recordability.
- Final review for issuance of title policy.
- Knowledge of affidavits including, but not limited to, 255 and 253 affidavits.
Required Skills:
- Familiar with real estate closings in NY and NJ and the CEMA process in NY.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Communication skills.
- Well organized.
- Knowledge of TRID regulations.
Required Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate/settlement closings.
- Notary Public of NY and/or NJ.
