Russell Tobin is seeking a QA Lab Assistant for a global biotechnology company with a dynamic portfolio of lifesaving medicines, including those that treat hemophilia and immune deficiencies, vaccines to prevent influenza, and therapies in iron deficiency and nephrology
Job Title: QA Lab Assistant
Location: Knoxville, TN (on-site)
Job Type: Contract
Est. Start Date: September 2024
Length: 6-Months
Hours: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
First day orientation is typically 10am - 12pm. Following orientation completion worker is dismissed to return next day at 2:30 to begin regular schedule.
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.88 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of materials for testing. Aids professional/certified individuals in the performance of various laboratory tests.
- Receipt and preparation of samples through front-end automation, refrigerated and frozen storage/archive of samples, use of computerized reports in retrieval and reconciliation of samples from archive for additional testing.
- Participates in continuing education.
- Receives specimens and some supplies. Processes and records information received from collection centers. Handles and tracks donor samples from receipt to final testing.
- Performs proper disposal of samples into biohazard containers after testing is complete.
- Follows all safety regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and rules. Maintains a clean, safe work environment.
- Operates, maintains and troubleshoots instrumentation within assigned department. Uses company laboratory computerized inventory management system to locate, track and determine testing status of samples. May handle positive samples.
- Works within current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines and adheres to all regulatory standards within the Lab.
- Assists with monitoring of inventory levels for laboratory supplies applicable to assigned department. Notifies supervisor of inventory needs.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Previous lab-related experience is preferred
Interview Process:
- 1 or 2 rounds of interviews with tour of lab
- Lab Tour to be included with onsite interview: Candidate must be prepared for lab tour by wearing long pants and close-toed shoes. Client will provide a lab coat for tour.
