Our client is seeking an Executive Director to join their team. The Executive Director is the senior staff member responsible for the daily leadership of the organization. This includes collaborating with the Board, monitoring the organization’s operations, organizing fundraisers and events, and promoting the organization’s overall goals. The Executive Director is directly accountable to Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Board of Trustees, leadership of Cohen Children’s Hospital and North Shore Health System to maintain and implement company’s objectives and goals
- Maintain the Donor Wall at Cohen Children’s Hospital
- Uphold the values of company including a passion for and knowledge of the nature of teamwork and professionalism, and commitment
- Work with volunteers, vendors, donors, and colleagues in the field of children’s health issues
- Assist board members, any time, day or evening, in case of a medical emergency and coordinate with appropriate hospital staff
- Maintain annual calendar of events and meeting schedules
- Prepare the agenda and minutes for Board meetings
- Update Website and work closely with Communications, Web & Marketing Company.
- Manage the marketing
- Perform the daily administrative activities of company along with the controller in the absence of an assistant
- Ensure that operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Develop diverse resources and funding streams necessary to financially support operations and projects. identify potential donors of prizes, sources of printing, signage, etc.
- Organize and implement all aspects of the annual Golf & Tennis Charity Classic and other fundraisers
- Develop all printed materials, design invitations, signage, and event programs and annual journal from implementation to completion
- Communicate daily with all donors and acknowledge donations for monetary gifts and prizes
- Handle negotiations with outside vendors on behalf of and authorize all expenditures
- Work closely and assist the Garden City Chapter with their events, volunteers, and ensure all vendor contracts and events are covered by insurance policy
- Review the annual insurance policies along with the Controller
- Manage contact management system
- Work with inhouse bookkeeper and outside accountant to file tax returns and compliance documents
Required Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Non-Profit Executive Director or similar role
- Experience running fundraising initiatives
- Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and how to get individuals involved for the organization’s success
- Strong knowledge of financials
- Excellent organization and critical decision-making
- Ability to communicate effectively with Board members, donors, vendors, volunteers, and staff
- Proficient in managing multiple grants, projects and/or contracts
