Rooted, stable heavy equipment manufacturer is seeking a Production Supervisor for their off shift. Daily you will oversee a group of highly skilled trades employees, including welders, and will report to the VP of Operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Following the production schedule and meeting production requirements and goals
- Prioritizing work log and assigning tasks to employees
- Training, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
- Ensuring shift safety, quality and delivery goals are met
- Assisting with identifying process improvements
- Utilizing the ERP system to review work orders and research data
- Monitoring weld quality on a daily basis and inspect any quality concerns to determine if rework is needed
- Attending meetings to discuss production, scheduling, inventory, etc.
- Maintaining current inventory and monitoring work in process
- Reviewing and confirming shift paperwork and production numbers
- Confirming time sheets, vacation and time off within the timekeeping system
- Ensuring that training is completed for new and current staff
- Completing welding tasks as needed to assist in meeting production goals
- Operating tow motors and overhead cranes as needed
- Other duties as directed by management
As a supervisor, you will spend up to 85% of the day on the manufacturing floor, walking up to 2-3 miles a day and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed. Successful candidates will be willing to perform hands-on MIG welding as needed, be able to coach and mentor the staff, be able to hold others accountable and be able to give multiple projects attention at one time. REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor - Night Shift:
1. A high school diploma or GED is required
2. At least three years in a similar production supervision position
3. Experience overseeing at least 5-10 individuals at a time
4. At least five years of solid hands-on MIG welding experience
5. Blueprint reading
6. Willingness to work an off shift long term and overtime as needed
7. Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Heavy equipment manufacturing
2. Forklift, tow motor or overhead crane operating experience
3. CPR/First Responder experience
4. Experience with AWS D1.1 standards
