Job title: Data Engineer

We are looking for a go getter person who can define:
- Analytic strategies to meet the demands of business requirements
- Technical requirements of the analytic solutions
- Data requirements of the analytic solution processes
Role Overview:
- The person will be part of the Data Analytics & Engineering team for a major Insurance client. He/ She will work with different stakeholders as SME for data analytics & engineering
- Acquire data from primary or secondary sources, implement data collection systems and maintain databases.
- Identify, develop and implement reporting and analytic tools
- Develop dashboards for visual representation of performance using visual reporting tools
- Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new solutions
- A typical workday will involve working with stakeholders in individual contributor.
- A suitable candidate should have 8-12 years of experience in a similar role and should possess a go -getter attitude. He/ She should be able to deal with ambiguity.
- Experience in property and casualty insurance/actuarial projects preferred.
- Having good hands-on experience on SQL, Power BI, Google Cloud Platform
- Having experience in developing ETL pipelines
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (both technical and business development)
Key Responsibilities & Skillsets:
Common Skillsets:
- 8-12 years of experience in analytics ETL and associated data engineering jobs.
- Strong communication skill for client interaction
- Insurance background preferably in Finance and Claims
- Hands on with ability to work with offshore teams
- Good hands-on experience on data and analytics
- Experience with Cloud – Azure/AWS/GCP and related tools/service
- Excellent communication & presentation skills
- Experience in managing SQL codes and performing data extraction/data wrangling
- Data analysis and reporting using Power BI (DAX, data connection, etc.)
- Good knowledge of SQL, Power BI and GCP
- Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision
Data Management Skillsets:
- Ability to understand data models and identify ETL optimization opportunities. Exposure to ETL tools is preferred
- Should have strong grasp of advanced SQL functionalities (joins, nested query, and procedures).
- Strong ability to translate functional specifications / requirements to technical requirements
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Computer Science/Engineering, Operations Research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
