Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to perform various tasks within the laboratory and production areas that assure consistent quality of products through supporting procedures and policies. The company standards for quality and safety of products shall meet the requirements of the corporation, state, federal, and kosher requirements.
The QA Technician will function as a support and information source to company standards set forth that assure the production of safe quality products for the consumer and the integrity of the organization.

High School Diploma-Required
Some College-Preferred
Experience:
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment with an emphasis on QA/QC functions is desired
1-2 years of experience as a QA/QC technician is preferred
Qualifications:
Ability to work early morning hours when needed (4am start) as a backup to the pre-op technician
Must be fluent in the English language and able to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Exposure to environmental monitoring processes is preferred.
Responsibilities (will vary based on scheduled assignment):
- Perform pre-operational checks: visual inspection of production areas, ATP swabbing, allergen swabbing, and the coordinating of recleaning/resanitizing.
- Communicate with the sanitation group during pre-op inspections ensuring that all areas are ready to startup
- Calibrate/verify laboratory instrumentation.
- Perform in-coming, in-process and finished product testing.
- Follow frequency schedules for facility monitoring/verification; environmental, coolers, freezers, foamers, chemical concentrations, scales, etc.
- Prepare samples for outside testing service.
- Document verification of in-process production functions; monitor water and product temperature, dumping, desalting, injection, cure brine, cover brine.
- Document verification of production finished processing; metal detection performance, finished products settings, batch ratios, code dates, labels, stickers, weights, packaging materials, and product changeover.
- Complete all necessary paperwork daily and enter appropriate data into daily electronic logs
- Prepare and review quality SOPs and SSOPs
- Other duties as assigned
