Responsibilities:
- Conduct time studies and support Operations in enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping projects.
- Establish and uphold labor standards for manufacturing operations.
- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor productivity metrics related to labor, equipment, quality, and supply chain.
- Collaborate with Senior Industrial Engineers to design and optimize site layouts for production, material flow, construction, and facilities.
- Work with leadership, operations, and engineering teams to ensure layout designs align with manufacturing strategies and build plans.
- Apply discrete event simulation and statistical modeling to inform critical business decisions.
- Implement lean methodologies (Kanban, Heijunka, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Hoshin, SMED, JIT, etc.) to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Identify, plan, and execute opportunities for process efficiency improvements, including simplification, standardization, implementation, and sustainability.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels and areas of the organization and provide clear and concise project summaries.
- Project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines, schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, and ROI calculations.
- Capability to lead complex cross-functional strategic projects, facilitate Kaizens, utilize DMAIC techniques, and drive value and change within the organization.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc., for layout design.
- Proficiency with Excel and/or Minitab.
- Proficiency in Python, Arena, Simul8, or other simulation software.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Green Belt certification (SSGB, LSSGB) preferred.
