Job Description
The Philanthropic Programs and Nonprofit Relations Specialist provides support to the Corporate Philanthropy leader and program managers in collecting external and internal data to help inform grant-making decisions, using analytical skills to evaluate grant and sponsorship investments, maintaining an evergreen philanthropic evaluation portfolio, and translating findings into messaging and presentations. The candidate will also support co-worker engagement and volunteer initiatives led by the Corporate Philanthropy and Community Impact team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Work with nonprofit representatives to discuss grant and sponsorship activities and manage all philanthropic output evaluations.
• Utilize keen analytical, database management, and data mining skills to create, refine, process and produce reports on philanthropic investments.
• Manage an evergreen philanthropic portfolio binder including production of reports and presentations on as-requested basis, including a bi-yearly report for leadership.
• Support co-worker fundraising campaigns, planning, logistics and tracking of volunteer opportunities, and co-worker matching gift programs.
• Support Ameren's philanthropic investments that call for add-on promotion and branding opportunities, galvanizing volunteers, and working across Ameren functions to increase visibility of projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Three or more years of relevant experience (i.e., working with non-profit organizations, community relations for a corporation, communications agency, project management or other related experience etc.) required. Ability to navigate database software programs. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint. Proven capability in mining large databases to identify various themes and then present data-backed decisions.

Very strong written and verbal communication skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and extraordinarily strong Excel and Power Point skills required. Demonstrated ability to represent the Ameren brand in demeanor and approach. Strong attention to detail coupled with solid analytical skills a must. Solid ability to multi-task in a demanding, dynamic environment. Ability to attend and manage events after-hours on weekends, on occasion. Communicate articulately, knowledgeably, and appropriately for the audience. Respond to phone and e-mail messages in a timely manner. Proper use of discretion when sharing information.
