As an Engineering Technician you will support engineering activities such as assembly, test, modification, fabrication and troubleshooting X-ray tubes, electro-mechanical systems or other test equipment. You will work from drawings, diagrams and written and verbal descriptions, to perform testing. You may also document test results and process steps to assist with validation of new products, tooling, equipment and processes. Finally, you will assist in training production personnel on manufacturing processes to ensure smooth transitions from engineering to production. Responsibilities
- Supports development of new X-ray products and manufacturing equipment including testing and validation
- Uses problem solving techniques and root cause analysis to address technical issues with products, including manufacturing issues
- Methodically collects and analyzes data from experiments, ideally using Six Sigma tools
- Documents and reports on results of testing, including validation reports
- Provides documentation to assist with manufacturing new products or assemblies
Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related experience
- Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
- Experience with Six Sigma tools is a plus
- Understanding of manufacturing process techniques and demonstrated experience supporting research and development activities to bring new products from initial stages into production
- Experience with X-ray tubes or other high vacuum devices is beneficial
- Experience with SAP or other ERP system, to build or utilize BOMs, routers and other manufacturing information
- Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
