Please note that we will be opening an office in São Paulo at a WeWork location, and attendance at the office three times a week is required for this full-time position. The contract will be directly with a payroll agency in Brazil, with all necessary work equipment provided. Payments will be made at the end of the month, and if you start before the 20th of the month, payment will be accumulated and received in the following month.

What you will do
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in the payment industry to join our team. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in understanding and translating business requirements into actionable insights and solutions. Your deep understanding of payment processes, systems, and industry trends will be crucial in driving strategic initiatives and optimizing our payment operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, project managers, and development teams, to gather and analyze business requirements related to payment processing, fraud prevention, and financial reconciliation.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of existing payment systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Identify and document business processes, system functionalities, and integration points to support the development of comprehensive requirements specifications.
- Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions to elicit requirements from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation, such as business requirements, use cases, user stories, process flows, and data mappings.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets and payment trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations for business growth and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementations, providing guidance and clarifications as needed.
- Conduct impact assessments for proposed changes or enhancements to payment systems and processes, identifying potential risks and dependencies.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation activities to ensure the quality and accuracy of implemented solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the payment domain, and provide expertise and recommendations on their application to drive innovation and business growth.
Requirements and technical skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (at least 5 years) as a Business Analyst in the payment industry, with a deep understanding of payment processes, systems, and industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO 20022).
- Strong knowledge of payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers, and emerging payment technologies.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering payment-related projects, from requirements gathering to solution implementation.
- Experience working with payment gateways, acquirers, processors, and other payment service providers.
- Familiarity with payment regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies, such as process modeling, data analysis, and requirements management.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certifications in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or payment-related certifications (e.g., AAP, CPP) are a plus.
