Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize electrical systems and communicate design options to clients and other stakeholders.
- Develop high quality construction documents and specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations for building load analysis and emergency power systems.
- Prepare building due diligence and assessment reports to describe existing systems and electrical design options.
- Participate with the MEP team in construction administration activities including on-site field observation, punch list reports, contractor coordination, RFI’s, and cost estimate review.
- Provide mentorship, training, and development for junior staff.
- Develop client relationships through successful coordination and demonstration of excellence on project work
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration.
- Excellent communications skills to enable successful in-person dialogue and relationships with owners, architects and other consultants.
- Desire for project management roles where you can lead and manage MEP project teams successfully.
- Excellent written skills in the form of engineering reports and technical analysis.
- Effective knowledge of the National and NYC Electrical Code, New York Building Code, and NFPA Codes.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit.
- Construction administration experience.
- Engineering calculations (load calculations, short circuit calculations, generator sizing, voltage drop, Title 24 compliance forms)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
- 3+ Years' Experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or actively pursuing
- LEED Accreditation
