The successful Business Development Specialist will work with an experienced mentor and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and maintaining customer relationships. They will work with internal management to achieve business growth and objectives. To successfully deliver sales opportunities, the Specialist will work collaboratively with the Marketing team, executive management and all other relevant team members.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to successfully navigate customers’ requirements and secure orders for new projects
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, finance, business or marketing discipline preferred
- 2-5 years or more of previous business development experience in a related industry
- Ability to understand the current regional business climate and align an approach to achieve market leadership
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex concepts/technical information, to make it easy for clients to understand
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a particular focus on communication, service orientation, and accountability for results
- Work collaboratively and effectively as a team member; build relationships to facilitate goals and achievements
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work assignments with critical deadlines; effective project management skills. Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Help develop and foster business opportunities that result in organizational growth, including the development and performance of all business development activities to achieve sales revenue, sales profitability and budget objectives
- Implement strategies designed to expand market share in current and emerging markets
- Assist with complex sales negotiations, create and deliver sales presentations and successfully navigate to customer fulfillment
- Assist with managing very large, high-profile client accounts
- Develop sales proposals and responses to request for proposals (RFPs)
- Contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Assist in the development of the annual business plan and sales strategies to ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability
- Participate in regular sales meetings to review sales activities, coordinate business development efforts and collaborate on sales opportunities
- Utilize existing standard sales operating procedures and best practices while continually pursuing opportunities for improvement.
