Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Los Angeles, CA - $100-170K
My client has developed EV technology that is set to take the market by storm. They’ve proven the technology in a prototype capacity and now they are ready to start and scale up production. For this to happen, my client is looking for a senior manufacturing engineer to come up with the manufacturing line for both vehicle and battery.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and equipment with a focus on optimizing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability for EV battery packs and vehicle assembly.
- Planning and execution: responsible for a successful prototype build and launch, ensuring alignment with production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Contribute in cross-functional collaboration between engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to streamline processes, reduce time-to-market, and minimize costs.
- Proactively identify potential manufacturing challenges and provide timely solutions to mitigate risks and optimize product designs.
- Line Balancing and Optimization: Utilize your experience in line balancing techniques to optimize production workflows, minimize bottlenecks, and maximize throughput efficiency.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA): Collaborate with design teams to incorporate DFM and DFA principles into product designs, optimizing for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA): Conduct PFMEA assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential failure modes and quality risks throughout the manufacturing process.
What you will need to apply:
- 3-10 years of proven experience in manufacturing process research and development, preferably within the automotive or e-mobility industry.
- Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing, automation, and robotics.
- Familiarity with materials science and experience in selecting materials for specific tooling and process related applications.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solidworks, Catia, Nx etc) and simulation tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of autonomy.
