Location: Roanoke, VA -Travel required to other location – travel 40-50%. Must be willing to relocate to Roanoke, VA, full relocation package and competitive salary offered.
Summary
The Operation director supports the range of activities across all US plants including manufacturing engineering, employee engagement, material procurement and warehouse management , production, hiring, and training, facility and maintenance , process assurance, Sales coordination for order execution, shipping -heave hauls etc in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing plant. This is a great opportunity for someone with senior management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Sr Vice President to support the following:
- Work with sales and project teams to understand customer order commitments and ensure the inventory, production, and delivery timelines align with plant loading.
- Ensure personnel needs are aligned with staffing levels and training schedules and arrange required resources.
- Detail production planning and execution monitoring to maintain customer commitments.
- Ensure supply chain and materials teams to monitor material availability for operation and inventory levels for production schedule needs.
- Work with supervisors and production teams to monitor production schedule, communicate the schedules, control and manage the slippages in the schedules, equipment reliability and scheduled maintenance. Ensure productivity levels are maintained.
- Maintain house keeping and organization in the shop floor.
- Oversee safety and ensure a safe work environment.
- Ensure process controls are maintained on shop.
- Shipping process controls and assurance
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 20 years experience in plant operation,
- At least five (5) years of management experience in assembly manufacturing plants
- Experience in custom manufacturing environment a plus
