The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Senior Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading system software design and architecture decisions to create a scalable, optimized, reusable, and secure data streaming platform for use in medical devices.
- Defining and implementing industry-standard best practices to design, develop, code, test, and debug server-side (back-end) software.
- Building new technology that enables the company to grow efficiently and quickly with an intense focus on customer needs.
- Working in all stages of technology development - from early R&D through commercialization. Platform development, application development, and applied research are all in scope.
- Collaborating effectively within the Corporate Research Labs, across business groups and functions, and with external partners to create solutions that positively impact patient and clinician experiences.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher AND 8 years of experience in back-end software development OR High School Diploma/GED from AND 12 years of embedded system design experience
- Java/JVM languages OR other object-oriented languages (C#, Ruby)
- Experience developing and architecting APIs and microservices
- Best practices for development with public cloud environments, preferably AWS
- Experience with automated end-to-end testing
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering from an accredited institution
- Experience with relational (i.e. Postgres) and NoSQL (i.e. Redis) data stores
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization best practices
- CI/CD experience, particularly CodePipeline or Github Actions
- Experience with Unix and familiarity with the command-line and shell scripting
- Domain knowledge of data modeling or business operations in the healthcare sector
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, S3, Lambda, and particularly IoT
- Experience with Spring and Spring Boot (or .NET Framework, Ruby on Rails)
- Knowledge of monolithic and microservice based architectures, and the trade-offs they entail
- Experience with Github, Jira, Confluence, Maven
- Data ingestion and query optimization best practices
- Experience in Healthcare industry or other regulated industry
Work location:
- Hybrid Eligible: Maplewood, MN OR Pittsburgh, PA at least 3 days per week
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible.
