This position is part of Collage's Pre-Construction Team and will be primarily focused on estimating and bidding projects across Collage's various sectors, with a focus on transportation (including railway station projects around the country). A solid understanding of and ability to manage the preconstruction process is essential, and this individual will be expected to fulfill their preconstruction functions while also building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, and our trade partners.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assess bid opportunities alongside the Preconstruction Team
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks to evaluate existing conditions
- Study project plans and specifications to ensure adequacy for a complete estimate, submitting formal requests for additional information as needed
- Perform quantity takeoffs utilizing Bluebeam and other estimating software platforms
- Solicitation of trade contractor participation and assembly of bid packages
- Secure and leveling subcontractor bids
- Develop accurate estimates ensuring they reflect recent cost data or subcontractor bids
- Develop project-specific General Conditions & General Requirements (GC/GR) studies with input from the Operations Team
- Develop estimate schedules to support the logic of the GC/GR study
- Lead final bid review meetings with the preconstruction and operations teams prior to bid submission.
- Present and explain pricing approach to clients with minimum assistance
- Complete bid forms accurately and delivering completed bids on-time
- Lead the pre-operations turnover meeting involving multiple departments
- Provide post-bid analysis of unit costs for various building systems, for use in future estimates
- Lead a stand-alone estimate with minimal oversite
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study
- 3-5 years of experience as an estimating experience
- Proficient in software (MS Excel, Word, P6, iSqFt, etc.)

Work Environment
This position is onsite at Collage's corporate headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida. The position will involve working independently at a workstation, as well as frequent group/team collaboration. This position is full-time, with normal hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm), understanding that responsibilities of the position may require flexible and additional work periods.
