Responsibilities:
You’ll ensure the smooth functioning of the Fraud Prevention & Investigation (FPI) department by supervising Fraud Analysts and Fraud Investigators.
- Oversee daily activities of the fraud analysts on the team, providing guidance and performance management.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members.
- Facilitate ongoing training sessions for the FPI team as needed.
- Assist in developing and updating training materials for the department.
- Participate in regular meetings with Investigators.
- Manage pending Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) filings, ensuring timely submission to the appropriate regulatory authorities.
- Act as a liaison with other departments when fraud investigations or alerts require cross-functional collaboration.
- Prepare and distribute daily and weekly FPI reports.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger accounts used by the FPI team.
- Aid in the investigation of significant or high-profile fraud cases that could result in substantial risk or loss to the organization.
- Review daily alerts on a weekly basis to verify timely completion, and take corrective action as needed.
- Manage the fraud inbox to ensure that inquiries are addressed within the department’s service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist in completing fraud alerts when necessary.
- Lead or participate in special projects within the FPI unit.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in fraud investigation and SAR filing in banking.
- 3-5 years of experience managing a team.
- Solid understanding of fraud investigation techniques, particularly in regulatory reporting and interview practices.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with confidence in handling complex issues.
- A certification in financial fraud investigation, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with various fraud detection and mitigation systems, case management tools, and banking platforms across multiple payment channels.
