Position Overview:
This opportunity is for a Strategic Sourcing Analyst for the Co-op and will be a staff position reporting to the Analytics Manager. The Co-op is located in Duluth, GA and the selected candidate will be required to live in this area.
The Sourcing Analyst is responsible for sourcing, bid, and pricing analysis as well as the administration and maintenance of monthly pricing, contract monitoring, and invoice reconciliations. The candidate must also be a motivated team player with strong organizational, analytical and people skills. This position will support additional Strategic Sourcing activities including the tracking of contract and commodity commitments, understanding and maintaining pricing models, maintaining documentation and implementation of vendor pricing, and tracking supplier performance metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Strategic Sourcing Team through data gathering and analytics. Utilize strategic sourcing tools to sustain continuous cost reduction programs for NDCP’s largest controllable expenditures
- Prepare and analyze Request for Information, Request for Proposal and Request for Quote. Summarize Request responses using bid analysis template and work with Operations to determine optimal freight payment and shipping method
- Develop relationships in the marketplace to understand and stay abreast of industry changes which may impact various business management programs as it relates to pricing trends and new products
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and supplier’s reputation and performance history
- Provide feedback to Sourcing on supplier quality and delivery performance metrics to assure continuous improvement in those areas
- Monitor and report on cost trends for key commodities and ingredients impacting product categories
- Work with suppliers and inventory management to resolve supply challenges in a timely manner
- Identify and immediately communicate product cost impacts to Category Managers
- Work cross functionally to track Sourcing savings throughout the year
- Reconcile and validate contract prices while supporting Finance with invoice discrepancies
- Conduct all activities associated with analysis around pricing, invoicing, year-over-year reporting
- Update systems and communicate monthly and quarterly price changes to Sourcing, Inventory and Finance teams
- Work with suppliers and Accounts Payable to resolve pricing issues in a timely manner
- Work with Transportation in determining optimal delivery terms, rates and freight class
- Maintain a current level of knowledge for responsible product lines in order to assist in identifying cost, vendor, and product opportunities
- Support the Category Managers with various projects and ad hoc reports
- Maintain confidentiality concerning all pricing and technical information regarding NDCP products and those submitted by suppliers to preserve a positive business reputation and to obtain competitive pricing
- Promote the achievement of corporate goals and objectives by cultivating a thorough understanding of NDCP’s mission statement and relating it to member’s needs
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or other equivalent experience
- 0-3 years of experience in Supply Chain or Finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access
- SAP and Ariba experience, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment following direction in an independent manner
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at a time and quickly switch direction as needed
- Strong analytical and research skills, high attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communications skills
