Our client, established in Bloomfield, CT is a packaging equipment company serving world-wide client base. We are searching for a hands-on, mechanical/industrial tech with a proven record of excellent project management skills as well working simultaneously on multiple projects.
We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills to work alongside other professionals, ensure deadlines are met, liaising with external stakeholders, ensure all projects remain within budgetary and time constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior management, must be able to articulate technical documentation and customer requirements to facilitate and maintain effective business relationships.
- Work directly with high-profile clients, must provide technical, operational customer support, installing and servicing machinery at customers' sites while meeting or exceeding standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Develop and maintain long term customer service relationships centered around scheduled field service intervals and preventative maintenance visits.
- Manage relationship with vendors as well as customer's engineering and maintenance teams, on site or remote, to install and train operators, service and troubleshoot equipment.
- Assist with assemble/ disassemble industrial package printing and material handling equipment.
- Assist with mechanical assembly and installation of pneumatic, vacuum and electrical systems and components
- Identify wear and tear to anticipate upcoming needs, assuring maximum machine productivity with a goal of zero down time.
- Recognizes when parts are out of spec and inspects them to determine root cause.
- Prepare documentation, narratives, engineering analysis and provide suggestions on improvement
- Will need to travel to our annual trade shows
- Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or 3 plus years experience in mechanical engineering or other related field
- Packaging printing industry or related field is a plus
- HMI/PLC experience is nice to have
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with end-users
- Effective team player with customer service focus
- Willing to travel <10-15%
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
