Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled GCP Cloud Architect to join our Systems Engineering Team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Cloud Platform Team to help establish and expand our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and support cloud-based Global Traffic Management (GTM)/Local Traffic Management (LTM) or DNS solutions, ensuring efficient data flow, performance, scalability, and security across GCP in our enterprise setting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and deploy GCP-based GTM solutions across regions, supporting live/live and live/standby setups.
· Create LTM solutions for layer-7 load balancing, managing traffic persistence, cookies, and regional flows.
· Collaborate with the Load Balancing team to integrate GTM/LTM services into the network infrastructure.
· Develop GCP DNS solutions and integrate them with internal systems like Infoblox.
· Oversee internal and external DNS resolution, ensuring seamless name resolution within GCP.
· Work with the DNS team to design, troubleshoot, and provide ongoing support.
· Lead the design, implementation, and support for GTM/LTM or DNS services in GCP.
· Develop cloud architecture strategies to boost performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Collaborate with architects, engineers, and IT teams to align solutions with infrastructure goals.
· Lead automation and management of services using GCP tools and scripting in Python, PowerShell, or others.
· Create comprehensive documentation and operational procedures.
· Act as the technical lead for incident management and problem-solving related to GCP DNS or Load Balancing services
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with GCP services focused on traffic management (GTM/LTM) and/or DNS.
- Strong understanding of GCP networking services, architecture, and best practices for scalability and performance.
- Expertise in cloud automation and configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience integrating modern cloud solutions with traditional hardware-based environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with DNS management systems like Infoblox.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries, such as healthcare.
- Knowledge of live/live and live/standby architectures.
Certifications:
- GCP Architect certification or equivalent credentials preferred.
