Job Summary:
The Contract Administrator interacts extensively with various internal departments at Viterra to facilitate the review, approval, and execution of legal documents. This role collaborates closely with supervisors and Viterra's legal counsel to review, prepare, and finalize contracts. The Contract Administrator prepares comprehensive contract summaries and ensures final approval and executive signature are obtained in adherence to established procedures and policies. This person works heavily with Viterra’s contracts management system to archive and retrieve contracts and manage the contract life cycle.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare a variety of legal documents, including but not limited to amendments, proposals, and contractual agreements, adhering to predefined templates and corporate standards.
- Review, interpret, and amend contract terms based on customer proposals and corporate policies, consulting with legal counsel as necessary.
- Maintain and update accuracy of legal documents databases.
- Manage the entire contract life cycle and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Generate reports as needed for contract renewals, audits, regulatory and management reviews.
- Contribute to special projects as assigned by departmental leadership.
Additional Job Functions:
- Undertake supplementary tasks as delegated by departmental management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in contract administration, paralegal work, or handling commercial contracts.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience in legal, business, finance, or accounting sectors is advantageous.
- Capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently within a dynamic team environment.
Skills Required:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficient in legal, financial, and business terminology.
- Proficiency in preparing various legal documents from templates, including NDAs and commercial agreements.
- Ability to interpret legal documents and accurately extract and manage contract metadata.
- Skilled in organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar software for legal document management is preferred.
