As a Special Giving Officer, you'll have the opportunity to shape and execute impactful fundraising strategies for gifts ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. In collaboration with our passionate team, you will directly influence the success of various initiatives and campaigns. You’ll enjoy a dynamic, mission-driven work environment where your contributions will support the growth and development of the DCMC Foundation’s donor relationships and fundraising efforts.
Essential Job Duties:
Fundraising and Campaign Strategy:
- Develop and execute mass solicitation plans for approximately 10,000 prospects annually (Annual Fund, grateful patient, employee giving, mini-campaigns).
- Manage the Employee Giving Campaign, including presentations, outreach, and gift acknowledgment.
- Oversee and grow the Employee Giving Campaign, expanding outreach and participation across the health system.
- Serve as a giving officer for assigned service areas, working with clinicians to identify and engage grateful patient donors.
- Implement donor cultivation and stewardship events, ensuring donor engagement and retention.
Donor Relationship Management:
- Work with the Foundation team to develop a comprehensive MOVES management plan for transitioning prospects between giving tiers.
- Meet regularly with DCMC personnel, physicians, and clinicians to identify special gift prospects and understand organizational needs.
- Collaborate with other giving officers to qualify prospects from the Grateful Patient Program and ensure seamless transitions through the giving pyramid.
- Work closely with the Privacy office to ensure compliance with HIPAA law in patient solicitations.
Administrative and Professional Development:
- Keep up to date with industry trends, fundraising technology, and best practices to enhance Foundation efforts.
- Collaborate with gift processing to track and report gifts by campaign.
- Participate in professional networks to stay current on fundraising laws and techniques.
- Provide additional support to the Foundation team as needed to ensure the success of its mission.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Education: BA/BS in a related field (fundraising experience may substitute for up to four years of education).
- Experience: 3+ years in fundraising or sales.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Raiser's Edge or Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Adobe, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred Knowledge: Prospect research/identification and proposal writing.
