JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate will provide on-site electrical maintenance support through technical leadership and continuous optimization of process improvement within the highly automated Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), Ladle Metallurgy Facility (LMF), Vacuum Tank Degasser, and Caster to meet the business goals of the company.
Bonus Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting required
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and understand electrical/electronic components/inverters
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings as well as P&ID's
- In depth knowledge of AC motors, drives, sensors and actors; knowledge of Power distribution
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
- Internship or Associates Degree preferred
- Experience in the steel industry preferred
- Prefer experience and knowledge of furnaces, power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, automation systems, measurement systems, instrumentation equipment, and/or hydraulic systems
- Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward

Typical day-to-day duties:
Project Execution and Start-up phase:
- Perform construction site safety walkthroughs
- Assist in the development of maintenance procedures prior to startup
- Ensure HIRAC safety reviews are performed for electrical procedures
- Assist in the development of energy control procedures and ensure they meet operational needs
- Perform electrical early equipment reviews of OEM equipment
Operations phase:
- Performs maintenance inspections and repairs including, but not limited to, electrical components, instrumentation, motors and etc.
- Analysis, solving, and reporting of electrical problems and failures
- Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement projects
- Ensure proper safety, environmental, and quality of asset area(s)
- Perform and assist in Lock Out Try Out of equipment, systems, and sub-systems
