Test Lead
ROLE
We need a Test Lead to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under a contract focused on delivering Test & Evaluation (T&E) services for IT systems and automation processes. The DHA is responsible for providing medical services and support to military personnel and their families, ensuring the readiness of the U.S. military medical force. The Test Lead manage the day-to-day testing and evaluation activities including defining and coordinating test strategy, test planning, test readiness, test execution, and reporting. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing day-to-day testing activities required for completion of test events.
Develop and coordinate a test strategy that will address and identify work breakdown structure, test architecture, schedule, deliverables, required resources, risk assessment, and quality control.
Coordinate with Government Test Manage.
Serve as Liaison between the Test Team, T&E Management, the Government Test Manager, the Product Manager, and Functional Area Management Teams.
Maintain situational awareness of issues that may impact the completion of assignments.
Ensure that T&E Management and Government Test Managers are kept informed.
Understand the architecture and configuration of test environments and test scenario conditions/parameters.
Provide overall frameworks for all of the tests to be performed for a test engagement.
Identify types of tests needed and objectives to be addressed.
Analyze documents (e.g., design, requirements, architecture, diagrams, flowcharts).
Train test analysts in development and execution of test cases, test scripts, test scenarios and user stories.
Document and track test events in test management tool for planning, execution, and reporting.
Facilitate daily and weekly internal and external status meetings, trainings, and test strategy meetings.
Ensure testing team is well informed of ongoing testing activities and all MHS applications.
Identify risks early in the project lifecycle.
Forecast for future test events to includes scope, complexity, requirements analysis breakdown, projected hours, risks, issues, and assumptions.
Provide support regarding application and environment risks, system architecture, software delivery processes, and scheduling impacts.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of systems engineering, software development, T&E processes, DevSecOps, industry best practice and new innovations.
Experience managing and leading T&E activities for multiple sustainment and new development releases.
Experience leading T&E activities concurrently in multiple test environments.
Must have experience in both the Waterfall and Agile development methodology.
Experience using many of the agile tools included in the development/test Tool Suite (e.g., Jira).
Experience in working throughout all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience in managing ITIL and ITSM solutions.
Experience in developing and managing test cases, test scripts, test scenarios and user stories.
Experience creating and using Requirements Traceability matrices to manage testing scope and track defects.
Experience designing, implementing, and conducting T&E procedures.
Experience providing testing subject matter specialist know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
Experience with automated test tools, such as Selenium and Cucumber.
Experience with performance test tools such as JMeter.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Preferred experience in ACAT I or ACAT III systems.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher IT or Engineering field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant Health IT Testing experience.
OR a minimum of 4 years of relevant Health IT Testing experience without a bachelor’s degree.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) OR Kanban credentials OR ISTQB Agile Tester Certification.
