St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system's second-largest hospital.
Job Summary:
• The RN Clinical Services Lead is part of the leadership team and recognized as a clinical expert in one or more functional areas, providing leadership, knowledge, experience and research expertise to the team.
• This position leads or directs the work to ensure the overall movement of patients throughout the unit is managed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures. This position also facilitates solutions for challenging patient care situations and collaborates with the unit manager and educator to monitor and maintain staff performance and outcomes.
• In addition, this position supports team members in alignment with HHC's vision, core values and leadership behaviors.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with members of the inter-professional healthcare team to assess learning needs, monitor clinical competency and support action plans.
• Partners with organizational leadership team to facilitate improvements and assist in the measurement of outcomes.
• Promotes change management initiatives to drive desired outcomes.
• Identifies learning needs and/or practice gaps and evaluating outcomes of educational interventions.
• Assists and validates unit-based competencies as needed.
• Facilitates special procedures with bedside nurses to ensure competency when needed.
• Advances the profession of nursing by contributing to the clinical development of others.
• Shares accountability for safe, effective, high quality care and optimal outcomes in the setting.
• Supports the organizational leadership team in serving as an advocate for human experience outcomes and initiatives.
• Serves as a resource and role model for high reliability organization (HRO) focus and integrates HRO initiatives into practice.
• Supports initiatives designed to meet balanced scorecard goals and key performance indicators.
• Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Active Registered Nurse license from the State of Connecticut required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• 2 years of acute care nursing experience required.
• 1 year of acute care charge or preceptor experience preferred.
• Certification in a specialty area preferred within 3 years of employment.
Education:
• BSN Required
