Position Overview:
As the Senior E-Commerce Manager at Dakota Lithium, you will play a critical role in driving the financial performance of DakotaLithium.com, directly impacting the profit and loss (P&L) through strategic leadership of e-commerce operations, digital marketing, and customer experience initiatives. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for setting the strategic vision for our paid ad efforts, website, mobile experiences, and other digital touchpoints. This role requires a proactive and strategic leader with a passion for innovation and a strong bias towards action.
The Team:
You would report directly to the Marketing Director and would be supported by a marketing team of 7. As a position that works 100% remotely this position requires someone who takes initiative, can prioritize,and gets things done. A bias towards action, go-get-it-done-ness, and move fast while nailing the details that matter is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution
- Define and lead the Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) strategy for the website, including merchandising, promotions, and testing initiatives that enhance engagement and drive sales.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase Average Order Value (AOV), attach rate, and cross-category selling.
- Contribute to the personalization strategy and roadmap, enhancing tailored experiences for our customers.
- Share best practices and collaborate with global e-commerce colleagues to support growth across all markets.
E-Commerce Strategy & Website Management (50%)
- Lead the daily operations and long-term strategy for DakotaLithium.com, focusing on site performance, customer experience, profitability, and revenue growth.
- Develop and execute e-commerce strategies that enhance website functionality, improve user experience, and maximize conversion rates.
- Manage product listings, pricing, promotions, and A/B testing to optimize site performance and sales.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as site traffic, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction, using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Expand our distribution channels by exploring and fostering partnerships with platforms like amazon and our distribution partners.
Cross-Functional Influence and Alignment
- Collaborate with Digital Products and other key stakeholders to develop the user experience, feature set, and functionality roadmap for DakotaLithium.com.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, including direct mail tactics and omnichannel digital roadmaps, to ensure a cohesive brand experience across all digital touchpoints.
- Work closely with Sales, Retail Analytics, Demand and Supply Planning, and Logistics teams to optimize product mix and ensure high service levels.
- Collaborative Leadership
- Partner closely with the marketing team to achieve e-commerce and business goals, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- Leverage strong leadership and communication skills to align team efforts with strategic business objectives, ensuring the promotion of Dakota Lithium's core values throughout all initiatives.
- Work collaboratively to design and implement strategies that support evolving business needs and market conditions.
- Serve as a role model for leadership, maintaining a positive and productive working relationship with the marketing team and other cross-functional partners.
Digital Advertising & SEO Management (50%)
- Lead the development and execution of cost-per-click advertising strategies across key platforms, including Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to maximize ROAS.
- Manage SEO initiatives to enhance organic search visibility and drive traffic to DakotaLithium.com.
- Optimize the digital sales funnel from ad exposure to purchase, focusing on customer acquisition, conversion, and retention.
- Explore and test new advertising opportunities to continually improve e-commerce performance and growth.
Innovation
- Serve as a thought leader in digital and e-commerce innovation, identifying emerging trends and technologies that can enhance Dakota Lithium's digital engagement and drive business growth.
- Promote continuous improvement in the direct-to-consumer experience, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Accountability
- Directly impact the P&L of DakotaLithium.com by setting revenue targets, optimizing the operating budget, and driving profitability through effective strategy and execution.
- Regularly review key metrics such as sell-through rates, site traffic, and conversion rates to adjust forecasts and address any challenges.
- Lead the development and management of the annual departmental ad spend budget, aligning financial, people, and business resources with strategic priorities.
- Demonstrate a high level of accountability, holding yourself and your team responsible for delivering exceptional direct-to-consumer experiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of e-commerce experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing digital sales channels.
- Proven expertise in WooCommerce, WordPress, and other e-commerce platforms.
- Extensive experience in managing cost-per-click advertising campaigns with a seven-figure budget on Google and Meta, along with a strong understanding of SEO best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to use data to guide strategic decisions.
- Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in consumer outdoor electronics or energy sector is preferred but not required.
- Experience or passion for outdoor recreation is preferred but not required.
- A proactive, action-oriented mindset with the ability to drive projects from concept to completion.
Compensation:
- Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Eligible for monthly sales bonus profit-sharing program after 3 months employment. Benefits:

- 120 yearly Paid Time Off (PTO) hours, equal to just over 3 weeks off. At 3 years employment: 160 yearly PTO hours. At 5 years employment: 200 yearly PTO hours.
- Product test samples of new Dakota Lithium products for free.
