Summary
We are seeking someone with a solid HR business partner background to engage in all aspects of human resources with demonstrated experience and exposure to complex HR scenarios (including but not exclusive to employee relations and riving organizational change). The selected individual will be able to build strong internal business partnerships provide coaching to develop others at all levels, challenge the status quo and offer creative solutions to business issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day guidance and support to all leaders on all HR related functions and initiatives such as recruitment, managing employee issues, focused learning and development, and driving strategic agendas forward leveraging organization design, strategic workforce planning, change management, and culture-building capabilities.
- Utilize data analytics by developing and interpreting metrics in order to drive decision making decisions within the business and assist in achieving long term goals and strategies
- Continuous evaluation of systems and processes, leading to the recommendation of new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed at the site level.
- Partners with Corporate HR team in the development and administration of HR policies and procedures and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Partners with the VP, HR to conduct effective, thorough, and objective employee relations investigations and provide appropriate recommendations for disciplinary action to management in alignment with organizational policies and procedures as needed.
- Works to support leader engagement initiatives, ensuring that company values and behaviors are incorporated and embedded.
- Works as a business partner to facilitate annual performance management and compensation planning. Tracks dues date for all reviews including 30/60/80 initial reviews.
- Works closely with Organizational Development and Training to structuring and organizing training plans and programs
- Work with the leadership team on reporting, data accuracy, compliance, employee data audits, as well as proactively run employee data audits to prevent inaccuracy.
- Participation in audits and driving resolutions to subsequent findings; creating proactive measures to address issues identified within audits
- Responsible for employee benefits administration including processing enrollment changes, answering benefit related questions, and assisting employees with any claim issues.
- Supports leadership with succession plans for all leadership positions and essential roles across the organization to identify top talent and support the development and retention of that talent in alignment with the organization’s career development strategies
- Applies a comprehensive knowledge of human resource disciplines, principles, and practices towards the completion of complex assignments/projects.
- Monitors employee satisfaction and attrition levels and assists in developing strategies and employee centered programs and activities to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Participate and support the Plant’s Continuous Improvement initiatives. Offer ideas, align policies, support activities such as Ops meetings, Gemba Walks, Kaizen Events which drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, and retention of plant employees. Partners with Plant Leadership in maintaining staffing levels to budget.
- Serves as contact with temporary labor agencies to schedule workers to meet daily production staffing requirements and to process pay records. Reviews and approves invoices and addresses temporary worker issues as required.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of state employment laws and regulations.
- Ensures legal compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Works with Corporate EH&S on worker’s compensation case management.
- Plans and organizes company events, e.g. luncheons, picnics, recognition, etc.
- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Other HR duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and or related experience and or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of human resources experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment which provided you with extensive knowledge and understanding of various HR processes.
- SPHR/PHR Certification is a plus
- Individual must be bilingual – English/Spanish
- Creative in finding ways to obtain information and “be in the know.” Able to effectively communicate change and initiatives with the business groups, focusing not only on the “what” but the “why.”
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to effectively work with non-local resources and establish solid relationships using unconventional methods and techniques.
- Knowledge and experience working with an HRIS system (Kronos/UKG preferred)
- Demonstrated computer application skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organization and communication skills, ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail and working in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated professional success in recruitment, leadership coaching, employee development & employee relations.
- Must have a solid background in core HR processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple project assignments and coordinate activities to meet specific deadlines
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence effectively at all levels of the organization - Ability to work across organizational boundaries.
