Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Third Shift Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations during the night shift. This role is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained to maximize production efficiency, and ensuring the facility adheres to food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food manufacturing industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment in a fast-paced environment. You'll lead a team of 10 technicians split amongst two locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of maintenance technicians on the third shift, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Oversee and coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on all production machinery, including packaging, mixing, and filling equipment.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are operating efficiently to meet production targets while minimizing downtime.
- Respond to equipment malfunctions, diagnose issues, and implement repairs promptly to reduce operational interruptions.
- Collaborate with other departments, including production and quality assurance, to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and parts, ensuring adequate stock levels for all critical equipment.
- Document all maintenance activities, including repairs and preventive maintenance tasks, in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Promote and enforce safety standards and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance supervisory role, ideally in a food production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work on a variety of production and processing equipment.
- Familiarity with PLC systems, refrigeration, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMP, and HACCP standards.
- Experience with CMMS software and proficiency in using maintenance tracking systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently during the night shift, solving complex problems in a timely manner.
