As the Senior Financial Analyst you will partner closely with the Senior Manager, Business Insights to capture data from across the food and logistics industries, align it to internal tools and form insights that enhance understanding and drive improvement. As a direct member of the Finance team, valued contributor to the Commercial (Sales & Marketing) team and key partner with the Operations team, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships across the global organization. Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst
- Develop relationships based on mutual trust and respect with operating leaders at all levels.
- Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Business Insights to drive results.
- Play a key role in the design, gathering and building of monthly and quarterly intelligence reporting processes.
- Drive financial results via data analysis, including key trends, variance analysis and development of financial models for decision support.
- Help manage account and contact databases to monitor commercial funnel activity and help to make recommendations on priority audiences.
- Support the annual multi-year strategic plan and business plan processes for the portfolio, including year-over-year analysis of Site, Region and Area level P&Ls.
- Support monthly regional reporting and forecast processes including variance analysis and explanations.
- Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools.
- Conduct market research, data mining and business intelligence ad-hoc projects.
- Support merger and acquisition analysis and integration as necessary.
- Review and influence capital spending plans via business case, payback and profitability analysis.
- Drive customer level business case and profitability analysis as necessary.
- Drive overall business analysis as well as understand and action key performance indicators, including non-financial metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
- Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage both recurring and ad-hoc requests.
- Effective communication skills verbal and digital communication skills.
- Ability to capture details while understanding the connection to the bigger picture.
- Flexibility to engage in some meetings outside of regular business house is important.
- Understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Account Engagement (Pardot) or similar CRM & digital systems would be considered an asset.
- Experience in database setup and management would be considered an asset.
- Exposure to food industry analytics and category management data such as NielsenIQ Homescan or similar systems would be considered an asset.
- Experience in multi-national market business and multiple business models would be considered an asset.
