NETWORK ENGINEERING MANAGER - HYBRID (3 days in office)
The client is urgently seeking a Network Engineering Manager to join their team. Three days on-site in Walnut Creek (San Francisco metro area). The position includes travel 15%-20% (but can be up to 30% at times).
The base salary is from $160,000 to $190,000, depending on experience.
Three key areas of focus:
- Pre-sales support: They will assist with drafting proof of concepts (POCs), pricing network rollouts, responding to RFPs, and scoping projects.
- Quality assurance: They will oversee technical teams and ensure the quality of network deployments and management, leveraging their hands-on engineering background to guide and delegate tasks effectively.
- Profit and loss (PnL) management: They will handle pricing strategies and project scopes and ensure profitable engagements by managing costs and optimizing resource allocation.
MUSTS:
- BA in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent.
- CCNP, CCIE, or other advanced certifications.
- 10+ years in architecting and optimizing Cisco solutions at a VAR.
- 8+ years working with Cisco technologies across data centres, collaboration, wireless, and IoT.
- 5+ years in presales, consulting, or customer-facing roles.
- Experience leading and managing technical teams.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in enterprise networking, cloud, and network security.
- Deep knowledge of Cisco and competitor products (Cisco ISR, Catalyst, Juniper, Aruba).
- Proficiency in routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP), VPNs, LAN switches, firewalls, ITILv3, and disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, ERP systems, and telecommunication protocols.
