Our client is looking for an Associate Attorney with a robust background in class actions and a passion for expanding into new areas of law. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, experience in federal and state courts, and a desire to engage in a variety of practice areas. Experience with business disputes and contract law is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Class Actions:
- Manage and litigate class action cases, including wage and hour, privacy, and other relevant areas.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on class action issues and complex litigation matters.
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
- Prepare and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Business Disputes:
- Assist in expanding the firm’s practice into new areas, such as business disputes between biotechs and pharmaceutical companies.
- Handle contract disputes and business-related litigation.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop strategies for new practice areas.
- Case Management:
- Oversee case preparation and management from inception through resolution.
- Conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.
- Analyze case materials and provide strategic recommendations to the legal team.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to provide updates, gather information, and address concerns.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Legal Writing and Research:
- Produce high-quality legal research and writing, including legal memoranda, case briefs, and motions.
- Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to class actions and business disputes.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in California.
- Strong experience in class action litigation is highly preferred.
- Experience in business disputes, including contract law, is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation and multiple cases simultaneously.
