We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Benefits Specialist to join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality benefits programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and more. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, strong knowledge of benefits regulations, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers, addressing questions and concerns about the benefits package.
- Act as the main liaison with plan vendors, third-party administrators, and benefits brokers/advisors.
- Oversee benefits administration, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, disability claims, and accident and death claims.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and others.
- Maintain and document administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Review and process monthly billing for all group plans, ensuring accuracy.
- Conduct benefits orientations and support open enrollment, providing training and guidance.
- Collaborate with payroll and financial teams to streamline benefits administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits programs.
- Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with HRIS and benefits administration software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Certification in SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS preferred.
- Experience with ADP systems is a plus.
