Job Summary
This role provides technical accounting expertise to ensure that the Company is in compliance with US GAAP. Reporting to Director of External Reporting and Technical Accounting, the individual will be responsible for collaborating with business leaders to provide technical accounting guidance on strategic business transactions, assessing accounting ramifications, developing accounting position papers and determining appropriate conclusions.
• Assist in the Company’s technical accounting, policies and specialized accounting functions, ensuring the highest degree of quality in the Company’s financial statements.
• Identify and assess technical accounting issues in complex business transaction.
• Work closely with various business leaders including Treasury, HR, Legal, M&A, FP&A, etc. to provide guidance on the accounting ramifications of strategic transactions.
• Maintain the Company’s written accounting policies and provide guidance throughout the organization on the application of such policies.
• Stay current on changes to accounting regulations. Summarize new and proposed accounting pronouncements and impact to the Company for senior management.
• Research and resolve technical accounting issues on a timely basis with the Company’s external auditors.
• Some specific areas of accounting responsibilities include equity compensation, goodwill, impairment testing, executive compensation programs, fair value, common stock valuations, preferred stock, derivatives, EPS, accounting for leases, including ARO, etc.
• Implementation of the new lease accounting guidance, ASU 2016-2 Leases
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
CPA and Big 4 experience preferred.
