Job Title: Wind Turbine Technician - Level 2
Location: Blue Earth, MN
Summary:
The Wind Turbine Technician is proficient in performing technical tasks on wind turbines, with occasional supervision needed for new or complex situations. The technician will be responsible for maintaining wind turbines, diagnosing faults, and ensuring safe and efficient operation. Direct experience with Gamesa G97 wind turbines is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in wind turbine maintenance or a similar field.
- Must complete the Turbine Technician I and Electrical Operator I JPMs within the probationary period.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Gamesa G97 wind turbines is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance of Wind Turbine Fleet (60%)
- Diagnose and resolve faults on wind turbines related to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Perform pad-mounted transformer switching according to Energy Isolation Procedures.
- Execute corrective maintenance tasks, both large and small, on wind turbines.
- Follow weekly work schedules and be available for on-call duties as required by the manager.
- Safely climb wind turbines of over 300 feet multiple times a day.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Operate forklifts and groundskeeping equipment as needed.
- Work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
Compliance & Administrative Record Maintenance (20%)
- Maintain EH&S (Environmental Health and Safety) documentation in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Complete necessary paperwork such as work orders, timesheets, tool and PPE inventory records, and any additional documentation as required.
Additional Support for Sites (20%)
- Be willing to travel to and assist other company wind facilities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with Gamesa G97 wind turbines.
- Forklift operation and groundskeeping experience.
