Product Manager
Chicago, IL - onsite for PI planning and as needed basis (1-2 times a month)
6 month contract + extensions
Summary:
The main function of a Product Manager is to oversee two product lines in the digital payments space of the orgnanization. This individual will work closely with other Product Managers, cross functional teams within both the IT and functional space, and the business to better serve customer needs in the product space.
What You’ll Do
· Write robust requirements, prioritize the backlog, and work closely with the engineering teams to deliver and test quality software
· Develop and manage project plans and key stakeholder engagement strategy on all initiatives
· Build relationships with key business partners and other brand stakeholders; articulates product needs clearly and succinctly to different audiences and cross functional partners
· Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends and standards to introduce the continual process, tool, and methodology improvements
· Identify, measure, and interpret results to validate product strategy;?Provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and resolving strategic opportunities
· Influence strategy for area/team
· Forecast ROI, regularly report on product performance post launch, drive product adoption, and lead the vision for the optimization plan
Who You Are
· Experience in designing, developing, and implementing platforms, APIs, and/or complex technical customer capabilities
· Experience building complex products
· Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
· Ability to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions
· Sound knowledge of concepts and procedures specific to own subject area and a basic understanding of the procedures in other relevant areas
· Expert knowledge of the digital landscape as well as strong familiarity with competitors and other eCommerce websites to understand trends and best practices within the search domain
· Experience partnering with third party vendors to drive strategic ideation sessions, roadmap capabilities, and all required technical integrations across the Gap landscape
· Demonstrated ability to adapt tactics and strategies to fast moving, rapidly evolving marketplace required?
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a product manager owning technical backend products working in a modern software development-based enterprise environment
· Previous financial or payments experience is a plus
