SpaceNav is seeking a talented Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our team. The engineering work is full-time and will be performed on-site at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) located in Suitland, MD. Some shift work will be required.
As a Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the various SSA produces being produced by TraCSS meet operational quality standards prior to operational deployment. You must possess a deep understanding of the mathematical principles underlying various astrodynamics and SSA concepts, including orbit determination, covariance realism, maneuver planning, and conjunction assessment. A strong background in mathematics and engineering is required.
Responsibilities
· Develop operational user scenarios and test cases that will be used in product validation and operational acceptance test validation.
· Work with the TraCSS System Integrator to evaluate, test, and onboard third-party SSA data products and services.
· Coordinate with DoD personnel, satellite operators, and other mission stakeholders in support of the SSA mission.
· Willing to work rotating shifts.
Qualifications
· US Citizenship required.
· Active Secret security clearance.
· Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field.
· Strong knowledge of various orbit determination concepts and algorithms
· 2+ years of relevant work experience in SSA and flight dynamics.
· Prior experience performing satellite operations.
· Familiarity with cloud computing technologies.
· Familiarity with software development and test lifecycle.
