VP/Director of Finance, P&C Insurance - UTAH

REQUIRES CURRENT/RECENT P&C INSURANCE CARRIER FINANCIAL EXPERIENCE, personal lines is preferred - small to medium sized carrier
The newly created role will report to the CFO. This individual will play a role in the strategic growth and financial management of the company. The successful candidate possesses strong strategic thinking abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the financial operations of a property and casualty insurance industry - especially in personal lines.
This role will require boots on the ground near Salt Lake City, Utah with no opportunity to work remotely. There is no staff reporting to this role as it's a roll up the shirt sleeve type.
Highlights of responsibilities:
1. Will have final oversight of the Statutory filing reporting. Requires a background in yellow book and regulatory reporting.
2.Will have financial forecasting, planning and budgeting responsibilities. Solid FP&A history is required.
3.Will play a role creating and implementing financial strategies to support the company's objectives and ensure long-term financial stability.
4. Will help drive growth and enhance controls related to the Enterprise Risk Management efforts.
5. Will take an active role in the financial business operations and have some influence over corporate direction by solving complex challenges, building relationships which ensure operational excellence and goal delivery.
6. Will be part of the company team to evaluate and select financial system upgrades/transformations/implementations, internal controls & process improvements. Will assist in the design and have some oversight on the implementation of internal control processes within systems including policy, billing, and claims.
7.Will provide hands-on expertise using tools such as FP&A, data analytics, modeling, and financial system transformations, driving efficiencies and bottom-line impact. Will bring a strong aptitude for understanding and manipulating data and systems company-wide. Will utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
To Qualify:
• MBA or CPA certification is preferred. Four-year degree is required. Public Accounting would be a plus.
• Will prefer 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles within the property and casualty insurance industry, personal lines preferred. Carrier size preferred is small to medium sized.
• Looking for someone who is capable of making sound strategic decisions and using problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both senior management and team members.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
