Make a difference and make an impact in Palm Beach County! Our community partner, a dedicated 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is seeking a Development Manager to support their transformative mission. This role requires a creative, organized, and driven professional who will play a key part in advancing the organization’s growth. The Development Manager will oversee grant management, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events, including securing silent auction items. You will be responsible for growing grant funding, expanding corporate partnerships, and helping ensure revenue targets are met across multiple fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Plan, administer, and coordinate fundraising events including sponsorships, grant writing, annual campaign, and donor relationships
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key donors and foundations
Ensure event volunteer’s activities are accurately tracked and reported
Organize profile-raising events to attract new supporters, attend community events, and promote fundraising efforts
Maintain website and social media content
Ensure timely acknowledgement of contributions
Monitor and evaluate fundraising activities and prepare written reports for funders and board
Update and maintain records to reflect donations received and overall impact
Support and lead the implementation of corporate sponsorship and events
Discover donor companies’ corporate social responsibility and/or workplace giving objectives
Identify opportunities that align with the mission and work with staff to create engagement initiatives and opportunities
Create a Corporate Sponsorship Program for the organization
Actively solicit and engage past, current, and potential donor and corporate sponsors
Work with the grants team to conduct research on current and potential grants funders within Palm Beach County to help drive the organizations goals
Lead, create, and execute all special events and signature events with a team of dedicated volunteers to include logistics and event support
Coordinate vendors and volunteers for various events that support the mission of the company
Organize and maintain development files and records of all events and activities
Other duties that may be assigned signed by the CEO
Qualifications and Experience:
Ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for mission of the company
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate information verbally confidently and clear and in writing that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies
High level of attention to detail
Imaginative, creative, and responsive attitude toward campaign management
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Knowledge of grants management, research, proposal creation and reporting
Knowledge of event management standards and trends, safety protocols and vendors
Exceptional understanding of philanthropy as it relates to the non-profit organization’s and with a wide and deep scope
Knowledge of fundamental disciplines of resource development
The ability to work independently and as part of a team; detail oriented, well organized, focused and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem solving skills.
Exceptional customer/donor service skills
Self-motivated, good organizational, and strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Required Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Non-Profit Management
Minimum of (5) years of fundraising, campaign management, and/or sales
Minimum of (5) years of event planning/management
Minimum of (5) years of grant writing, management, proposal creation
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Detail oriented and solution focused in executing projects/assignments
Strong relationship building skills and capable of cultivating strong relationships with diverse audiences
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
Can work independently with little to no supervision
Proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals
Desired Skills/Experience:

Knowledge of Palm Beach County funder and donor landscapes
