Summary
Provides direction for warehousing functions at a singular Warehouse campus while partnering with peers and leadership continued functioning of multiple additional sites. Scope includes safety, inventory control, shipping/receiving, fiscal compliance, staffing and equipment maintenance scheduling. Ensures efficient operations and cost-effective manufacturing. Ensures productivity targets are meeting internal and external customer requirements and expectations. Initiates, defines, coordinates and enforces various operational programs and personnel policies and procedures.
Essential Functions

• Manages warehousing functions for a singular site, including the shipping/receiving and storage of raw materials and finished goods, site expenses, budget, P&L as well as oversight of personnel and procedures, maintenance of equipment, and onboarding of new customers.
• Leads special projects and activities as assignment by leadership .
• Collaborates with peers and leadership to ensure warehouse functions at multiple other sites.
• Oversees stock control and the processing of all order types, tasks and system transactions.
• Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Maximizes quality by reducing variability throughout our operations. Makes recommendations based on the analysis of various data provided.
• Continuously improves and achieves or surpasses budget results with respect to safety, waste, efficiencies, speed, quality, downtime, cost, and other performance measures.
• Participates in financial planning and preparing of the annual budget. Tracks expenditures and variances for the site and reports on them.
• Defines, manages and establishes cost models and other performance measures.
• Under the guidance of leadership, develops and maintains cost and work saving measures and standard procedures through directing manufacturing operations according to company standards for quality and production output per hour.
• Communicates on a regular basis through plant-wide communication meetings as well as departmental, staff and other meetings.
• Arranges for customer visits the site to monitor the quality of service levels.
• Directs the site daily production and staffing plans to achieve the needs of the schedule and meet customer requirements.
• Responds to customer related issues, opportunities and builds strong relationships.
• Works with various cross divisional teams for planning future warehouse and campus capacity requirements.
• Works with Human Resources in organizing the recruitment, hiring and onboarding staff.
• Ensures employee conformance to established best practices and proper training of staff, including performance coaching and development.
• Develops and approves recommendations to change systems, policies and procedures; ensure timely and accurate implementation.
• Makes recommendations to senior management on long range labor and capacity needs.
• Oversees and handles projects that have short to long term focus.
• Creates and gives presentations for various audiences of varying levels.
• Facilitates corrective action follow-ups.
• Facilitates and follows-up on strategic objectives to successful completion in appropriate process areas.
• Observes recycling guidelines and limits waste of materials and supplies.
• Creates and monitors goals, objectives and timelines and achievement of them.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, labor, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff. Develop, implement and enforce consistent discipline guidelines. Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of work assigned.
• Conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses employee relations complaints and resolves issues.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of warehouse, logistics, and/or operations experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of warehouse, logistics, and/or operations experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Required to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
• Good written and oral skills.
• Intermediate skill in the use of business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
• Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing, and operating within, cross-functional teams as well as the ability to significantly integrate within corporate and customer organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of warehouse logistics, and/or operations experience to include supervisory or managerial experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
• Intermediate skill in the use of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) such as Softeon or SAP.
• Intermediate skill in Transportation Management System such as Oracle (OTM).Skilled in communicating a compelling vision of the future.
• Experience with production management or work order systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Experience working with all levels and functions within the Company.
Compensation
- Hiring Salary Range: $81,000 - $101,300.
- Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
